Shortly into a heated parliamentary election campaign, what may have been the most important report on Danes’ health landed. It drew very little attention, but perhaps that 189-page mapping should have.

Drawing on an enormous data set, the report, The National Health Profile, reveals that the prospect of long, healthy lives with few illnesses at the end is so unevenly distributed that it is almost un-Danish.
