»It wasn’t just the longest government-formation talks in Danish history. It was also the most spectacular ending«, says Politiken’s political analyst, Elisabet Svane, after Mette Frederiksen told King Frederik on Monday evening that she is able to form a government.

Spectacular because the King was nowhere to be found in his usual rooms at Amalienborg; on Monday, he had set sail on a summer cruise around Denmark aboard the royal yacht Dannebrog.
