The Conservative Party leader Bendt Bendtsen (Cons.) is to withdraw from his post as leader of the party and Minister for Economy and Trade, according to information received by Politiken.dk.
According to initial reports, Bendtsen’s decision will lead to a government re-shuffle in the junior coalition partner. Justice Minister Lene Espersen is expected to take over both Bendtsen’s ministerial post and the leadership of the party. Culture Minister Brian Mikkelsen is expected to take over the Justice portfolio.
