When Amanda Romare’s novel ’Det halve Malmø består af fyre, der har dumpet mig’ came out last year, critics were almost unanimously enthusiastic. Finally, here was a novel that addressed dating in a way that wasn’t just frivolous or Jane Austen paraphrases but genuinely described life as a young, single person with nuance. Some described it as a break with romantic comedy stereotypes and a revealing tour de Tinder.

So, it was only a matter of time before it was adapted into a TV series, especially considering the book’s author is a podcaster, producer, and much more in the Swedish media world.
