They range from 2 to 11 meters in length. Thirteen have been discovered in Bornholm’s landscape, believed to have had a magical power that made women pregnant.

Bornholm boasts Hammershus (medieval fortress), Helligdomsklipperne (the Sanctuary Cliffs), and Rokkestenen (The Rocking Stones). But now the rocky island can add what archaeologists call »a peculiar phenomenon with pre-Christian roots« to its list of attractions:
