So there we were, applauding. It was indeed powerful dance. But we were applauding a sadistic abuser and his young female student, who is forced further and further into excruciating toe dance, eventually being strangled over the ballet barre.

As if the audience here at Bellevue Theatre, myself included, had forgotten all about #MeToo, sexism, abuse in the artistic industry, and the overwhelming number of femicides?
