An overwhelming majority of 90.5 percent of Danes continue to trust their banks, despite the fact that thousands have suffered major financial losses as a result of advice on investment and savings, according to a survey carried out by Rambøll Management for Jyllands-Posten.
“There is need of an evenly matched relationship between the bank adviser and the customer. That is something that blind faith does not engender. It puts people in a situation in which they don’t analyse advice and we have seen many cases in which customers have suffered because they have not understood the risks involved,” says Consumer Council Economist Carsten Holdum.
