The Heritage Agency of Denmark needs some DKK 130 million to prevent historical ruins such as Hammershus, the Kalø Castle ruins and Absalon's Castle from crumbling away, according to a new, as yet unreleased report from the agency cited by Kristeligt Dagblad.

Despite the renovation of some 18 ruins over the past four years, there is need of an extra effort, according to Kjeld Borch Vesth of the agency's Monument and Historic Site Evaluation Department.
