Denmark pays too much for med

The Association of Danish Regions is calling on the governemnt to change rules on how medicines are priced following a report showing that Danish hospitals pay 22 percent more for 14 expensive medicines than Norwegian hospitals.

The reason for the discrepancy is the model under which pharmaceutical companies can determine their own prices in Denmark, while Norwegian law sets prices at the average price paid in the cheapest countries.
