After a period of the highest food prices for decades, Danish consumers can look forward to considerably lower prices in 2009, according to Institute of Foodstuff Economy Senior Adviser Henning Otte Hansen.

"I see consumer prices for milk, butter, cheese, bread, flour and grain dropping some five to six percent. These are the items that rose most during the so-called foodstuff crisis," Hansen tells Berlingske.
