The latest figures from the National Association of Women's Crisis Centres (LOKK) shows that some 14 percent more women sought help from a crisis centre in 2008 compared to 2007, but not necessarily due to an increased level of domestic violence.
"I think that this reflects the fact that there has been focus on the subject of violence against women and more and more women realise that they can get help," says LOKK Chair Birgit Søderberg.
