Under a repatriation agreement between Denmark and Iraq, Baghdad has so far agreed to take in some 49 rejected Iraqi asylum-seekers. But the programme of forced repatriation has come to a standstill as 46 of those marked for repatriation have disappeared from Danish asylum centres.
A nationwide APB has been issued to try to find them, but even if they were found, police are having difficulty in getting flight tickets during the summer months, according to National Police Chief Superintendant Christen Østergaard in Berlingske Tidende.
