The chief of police in Gereshk in Afghanistan’s Helmand Province says that drug lords and smugglers pose possibly the worst problem in the region, and is calling for NATO to address opium production more effectively.

For Danish and NATO soldiers who have been fighting in Helmand Province for several years now, the picture as to who is actually the enemy has become more diffuse. While the Taleban and al-Qaeda have appeared to be the main enemies, in fact Danish soldiers have been fighting several different groupings who sometimes work together.
