Shell memo: Minimal royalty increase

The 2003 North Sea Agreement, which regulates the level of royalties payable to the treasury, seems to be less beneficial to Denmark than the parties behind the agreement promised, according to confidential papers that Politiken has acquired.

According to the Shell memoranda, the agreement has provided a mere annual DKK1billion extra to public coffers – a total of DKK9billion - since the agreement came into force in 2004.
