To the left of her was her father, Keld Heick, at the wheel. To the right sat her mother, Hilda Heick. Between the two adults, there was just enough space for an extra seat for her, Annette Heick, in the Ford Transit that transported the family to carnivals and festival grounds all over the country in the 1980s.
She is an only child, and when her parents went out to perform, she was always with them. One of the best things about the often long car rides was being allowed to keep track of which way to go. At that time, cars didn’t come with GPS equipment, so Kraks’ detailed maps of the Danish road network were indispensable, and Annette Heick loved sitting with the map book. Proudly.
