It all started with a surprising phone call to the caseworker at the Agency of Family Law on a Friday at the end of January: A department head at the Ministry of Digitalization asked the Agency of Family Law employee in Ringkøbing to ’correct any possible mistake’ where a citizen—the then 28-year-old Nadine from Funen—appeared to have mistakenly received Danish citizenship.
This is not something the Ministry of Digitalization has the authority to decide, and normally such a request from a ministry would be forwarded to the management of the Agency of Family Law. But this was a direct phone call to a caseworker.
