René Otto Nielsen and his wife, Jette Merete Nielsen, were certain that René Otto Nielsen would be the first to pass away. She was more self-sufficient, had everything under control, and he had his ailments. But it didn’t turn out that way. Three and a half years ago, Jette Merete Nielsen was diagnosed with lung cancer and died three months later. René Otto Nielsen was left alone.

»It hit him hard. He became really, really sad,« says their daughter, Stina Otto Findorf.
