Four weeks have now passed since the general election, yet the government talks remain at a standstill.

Neither Mette Frederiksen nor Lars Løkke Rasmussen has blinked in their internal game of chicken — and it could drag on for some time yet. Both are convinced time is on their side, that delay itself will make the other more likely to blink and begin the hard march toward compromise.
