For a double-digit sum in the billions, you can get more than just the nose of a fighter jet – you can get several complete aircraft.

That is why it is drawing attention that Denmark’s purchase of the American F-35 fighter jet now turns out to cost 14.1 billion DKK more than the Defense Ministry has previously estimated. The finding comes from a report by the National Audit Office, which reviewed the purchase of 27 fighter jets ordered in 2016.
