Mærsk overruns effluent limits in N. Sea

Lyt til artiklen

Mærsk Oil and Gas has released more oil into the North Sea than its discharge licence permits, with several of the company’s platforms having released more oil in production water than limits allow.

The main culprit is the Tyra EA platform, which in 16 of 28 months has exceeded its permitted limits, in some cases by more than 50 percent. The Tyra EF and Skjold platforms have also exceeded their limits for 13 and 8 months respectively, according to documents that Politiken has, containing data from May 2008 to August 2010.
