Amnesty International deserves credit for drawing attention to North Korea with a report showing that the country’s vast system of internment camps is being greatly expanded, housing at least 200,000 people in indescribably barbaric conditions.

Prisoners have to keep alive by eating rats, worms and grains extracted from cow manure. At the same time, public executions both inside and outside the camps are on the increase.
