Some 400 psychologists have reacted angrily to a decision by their organisation to advise a member to accept a court order to disclose privileged therapy material on an interpreter’s alleged experiences at a US base in Afghanistan.
“Reprehensible. Considerations for the patient are paramount. I fear this will destroy the trust between soldiers and the defence force psychologists,” says Prof. Ask Elklit of the Institute of Psychology at the University of Southern Denmark.
