Climate and Energy Minister Lars Aagaard’s call for the board behind a large public subsidy scheme in the energy sector to treat nuclear power on par with other energy technology solutions like solar and wind has raised eyebrows among both supporters and opponents of nuclear power.

The Climate Minister states that the Danish Energy Agency has just concluded that there is no legal barrier preventing the Energy Technology Development and Demonstration Program (EUDP) from awarding millions in grants to projects aimed at developing nuclear power.
