The significant decrease in the number of children born to Danes in recent years is causing considerable concern. However, official projections suggest that fertility will rise again in the coming years from the current 1.5 children per woman to nearly 1.7 children per woman. This assumption is based on the belief that many have simply delayed having children and will do so soon.
