For a long time, it has been clear that the Danish military faces a challenge in retaining soldiers and that the government is therefore open to measures such as increasing their wages.

But the issue with uniformed personnel is far from being solely a Danish problem. In several major countries, which are central to NATO’s overall military strength, there are struggles to recruit the necessary manpower.
