There’s one thing supporters and opponents can agree on: Their fight is not over with Minister for Justice Peter Hummelgaard’s withdrawal of his controversial proposal to monitor EU citizens’ phones in search of images and videos of sexual abuse of children.
»I don’t think the discussion about mandatory mass surveillance ends here; it will come back. That’s always the case«, says Jesper Lund, chairman of the IT-Political Association of Denmark, who has fought against Hummelgaard’s proposal.
