Langt de fleste kvinder kan trygt tage hormoner mod gener i overgangsalderen, uden de skal bekymre sig om at dø af alvorlige bivirkninger som for eksempel brystkræft eller hjerte-kar-sygdomme.

En særlig gruppe kvinder kan endda med stor sandsynlighed forvente at leve i gennemsnit fem år længere, hvis de får hormontilskud.

Det slår danske forskere nu fast på baggrund af et gigantisk studie, der omfatter næsten 900.000 kvinder.
