Klimakrisen er akut. Det samme er problemet med misinformation, der undergraver vores evne til at handle i fællesskab. Når fakta udvandes, og tilliden til medier og viden svækkes, svækkes demokratiet og dets evne til at handle også.
Derfor inviterer Politiken og Danida Fellowship Centre til fyraftenssamtale og debat, hvor vi belyser de globale udfordringer med misinformation. Oplev klimajournalisterne Manish Mishra, INDIEN, Dianah Chiyangwa, SYDAFRIKA, Gisele Lobato, BRASILIEN og Nduta Mukami, KENYA, som hver især vil fortælle om lokale udfordringer med misinformation og komme med konkrete eksempler på manipulationens mange ansigter. Både når det gælder den offentlige samtale om ekstremt vejr, landbrug, industri og energi. Politikens klimajournalist Adam Hannestad stiller spørgsmålene.
Bliv klogere på, hvordan vi skal gribe problemerne an i en panelsamtale med klimaambassadør Ole Thonke, biolog og miljøjournalist Alexander Holm, redaktionschef på TjekDet, Steen Jensen, og Anne Højer Simonsen, vicedirektør i DI, der efterfølgende vil diskutere, hvad misinformationen gør ved klimadebatten lige nu, og hvordan vi kan styrke modstandskraften mod misinformation. Og så spørger Adam Hannestad: Hvordan kan medierne formidle klimavidenskab, så den når ud til større dele af befolkningen? Og hvilket ansvar har et land som Danmark i bekæmpelsen af misinformation.
Afslutningsvis åbner vi op for spørgsmål.

Misinformation in the Time of Global Crises
Join a free after-work talk with climate journalists from around the world, where we focus on misinformation and its ability to weaken democracy’s capacity to act in the midst of a climate crisis.
The climate crisis is urgent. So is the problem of misinformation, which undermines our ability to act collectively. When facts are diluted and trust in media and knowledge is weakened, democracy and its ability to act are also weakened.
Therefore, Politiken and Danida invite you to an after-work talk and debate, where we illuminate the global challenges of misinformation. Experience climate journalists Manish Mishra from INDIA, Dianah Chiyangwa from SOUTH AFRICA, Gisele Lobato from BRAZIL, and Nduta Mukami from KENYA, who will each talk about local challenges with misinformation and provide concrete examples of the many faces of manipulation. This includes the public discourse on extreme weather, agriculture, industry, and energy. Politiken’s climate journalist Adam Hannestad will be asking the questions.
Learn more about how we should approach the issues in a panel discussion with climate ambassador Ole Thonke, biologist and environmental journalist Alexander Holm, editor-in-chief at TjekDet.dk Steen Jensen, and Anne Højer Simonsen, deputy director at DI, subsequently will discuss what misinformation is doing to the climate debate right now and how we can strengthen resilience against misinformation. And then Adam Hannestad asks: How can the media communicate climate science so that it reaches larger parts of the population? And what responsibility does a country like Denmark have in combating misinformation?
