Overall, the defence establishment owns 18 limousines including the largest BMWs, the newest version of the Citroen C6, and Peugeot 607s – also the top of its line, according to Ekstra Bladet. In comparison, the police force has only two chauffeur-driven large cars.
While the six highest ranking generals, including Defence Chief of Staff Admiral Tim Sloth, have a dedicated chauffeur at their disposal, the remaining, lower ranking generals also have the right to have a driver, but not necessarily the same person every time. A similar hierarchy is in place when it comes to how they can use the ‘company’ car. Only the top four may be picked up by their driver at home.
