Unemployed people can now look forward to a different set of rules on seeking employment after employers, unions and the minister for employment have agreed to drop a much-criticised scheme that forced jobless to send four applications each week in order to be eligible for unemployment payments.

Minister for Employment Claus Hjort Frederiksen (Lib) is preparing new and more flexible rules, according to Danish Employers Association Chief Consultant Erik Simonsen.
