Politicians and governments in Europe have contributed to further a climate of intolerance and xenophobia according to Amnesty International’s Annual Report, which describes human rights conditions in 2010 and the beginning of 2011.

The report gives Denmark a dressing down, saying that its ‘counter-terrorism legislation continues to give rise to concern’. It adds that Danish authorities saw increased powers ‘had enhanced terrorism prevention’ but according to Amnesty at the expense of human rights.
