Radikale Venstre has, under Martin Lidegaard’s three-year leadership, made a point of not appearing lenient on immigration policy, a criticism the party has faced for years.

However, new demands from Dansk Folkeparti (the Danish People’s Party) for so-called repatriation of foreigners in Denmark have forced him to take a stand.
