When a teenager today scrolls through TikTok and Instagram, there is a high likelihood that amidst dance videos, lip gloss tips, and cat memes, she will encounter content about self-harm.

These are videos where peers share their ’recipes’ for self-harm, describe how it feels, and explain how to hide it from adults.
