An internal government memorandum says that the consequences of a European Court judgement this summer is far more extensive than the government has previously admitted, according to a copy of the memorandum that Jyllands-Posten is in possession of.
No to DPP
In the memorandum, government legal advisers refute Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen’s assertion that the judgement only affects ‘a corner’ of the government’s immigration policy.
The memo also reveals that the government has very few possibilities of acceding to DPP requirements that new rules must close the immigration law loopholes that have resulted from the European Court judgement.
