Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen says that in order to counteract a labour shortage in coming years the unemployment benefit system needs to be reformed and people should get money for overtime rather than time in lieu.
Speaking at the end of tripartite negotiations between the government, unions and employers, the prime minister said that parties should be looking at ways to increase the overall labour supply: "..by among other things looking at flexible working hours, vacations and days off, and whether overtime can be paid rather than people taking time in lieu."
