The head of the EU police mission in Afghanistan needs at least twice as many foreign police officers if he is to be able to fulfill his mission of training an Afghan police force, and is asking Denmark to send more officers, according to Berlingske Tidende.

"I understand that it is difficult for a National Commissioner to send ten more men to Afghanistan at a time when there is criticism at home of too few policement and difficulties regarding response. But I feel that the Danish police must not forget its international involvement. The Danish police force is well-known in the United Nations and EU systems as having very good officers, and we would like more of them down here," says Kai Vittrup, who currently has some 180 officers under his command.
