The Danish Civil Aviation Authority has postponed a test flight by Cimber Sterling from Karup Airport to measure the amount of volcanic ash in Danish airspace following forecasts of a dense cloud over Denmark.
“Ash concentrations are so high at the moment that we cannot send an aircraft into the air. That is also the forecast that means that Danish airspace is closed until 2 a.m. Wednesday,” says CAA communications Officer Thorbjørn Ancker.
