Solène

They already run the restaurants Donda Deli in Vesterbro and Donda Khana in Christianshavn, and now the team has expanded with an all-day bistro in Østerbro.

The place is called Solène, and the menu is inspired by the Iberian Peninsula, featuring Spanish and Portuguese dishes.

For breakfast, you can order omelets, eggs and soldiers, and torrijas (Portugal’s version of French toast). The lunch menu offers plenty of Iberian ham, oysters, and tuna tartare. If you book a table for dinner, you can enjoy a menu for 450 kroner and sip cocktails.

Soléne has opened at the address where Morten Bech Køster – who has just opened Primero elsewhere in Østerbro – ran the restaurant Aarhusgade 1 for many years.

&deli

Carlsberg Byen’s new deli is open every day of the week, with experienced staff in the kitchen and behind the scenes – namely Kamilla Seidler, who has a background in several top restaurants; and Rune Toft, who previously ran the restaurant Lola with her; and the coffee roastery Original Coffee, which is also located in the neighborhood and has many branches.

The place, called &deli, offers sandwiches, salads, and a few hot dishes, and according to our reviewer who has already visited, the latter are particularly worth trying.

The stew, served in a generous portion with an intense, creamy, and nourishing mix of chicken falling off the bone, pumpkin, mustard seeds, beans, herbs, and potatoes, was a hit with »huge flavor«, wrote Birgitte Kjær.

&deli. Bohrsgade 44, Carlsbergbyen. Now open.

Flere Fugle

The sourdough matadors in Nordvest are expanding once again. They already run Fovl, Flere Fugle, and Flok in the district, and now they have opened a shop on Rentemestervej, where you can fill your tote bag from the Academy of Fine Arts with all sorts of things besides baked goods. This happens in the premises that previously housed Riccos Coffee.

Flere Fugle Bakery and Shop is the name, and it is located about 100 meters down the street from Flere Fugle, selling fresh vegetables, dairy and grocery items, meat, wine, and ceramics. Of course, you can also get sourdough bread, coffee, and cakes here. Open every day of the week.

Flere Fugle Bageri og Butik. Rentemestervej 20, Kbh. Nv. Now open.

Krogs Fiskerestaurant

There aren’t many restaurants in the city that can boast over 100 years of history, but Krogs Fiskerestaurant can.

The fish market and the fisherwomen who sold freshly caught plaice and mackerel along Gammel Strand (oh yes, we dream of those days too) in front of the restaurant are long gone, but Krogs has endured and has been a bit of a time capsule both inside and out.

Recently, the restaurant closed, but in May it will reopen – fully renovated and with 30-year-old chef Andreas Ring Kjeldsholm Hansen at the helm. He has previously managed the kitchen at Dragsholm Castle and worked in the kitchen at the two-star Vollmers in Malmö, and the ambition, according to a press release, is to »be among the city’s leading fish and seafood restaurants«.

At the same time, Krogs’ former fishmonger in the neighboring premises will be transformed into a relaxed all-day eatery with baked goods, coffee, open sandwiches, and a wine bar in the evening.

Krogs Fiskerestaurant. Gammel Strand 38, Kbh. K. Opens in May.

Bonni

And now to Nørrebro, where two friends from Bornholm have both left their office jobs to pursue their dream of creating a new local hangout.

They call the café Bonni, located around the corner from Omar in Fensmarksgade, and according to our reviewer, it makes sense that the place is already a hit among locals.

He recommends their warm ribollita, the Tuscan stew of kale, white beans, and vegetable broth, here with large, crispy bread croutons, dollops of coarsely chopped pesto, and freshly grated Parmesan on top:

»A totally acceptable lunch for 95 kroner. If you’re a meat-eater, add the fried slices of roasted chorizo for 15 kroner. It gave the soup a bit more depth with a little paprika kick, warming you up in the winter cold«, writes food critic David Dyrholm and gives four hearts.

Bonni. Fensmarksgade 23, Kbh. N. Now open.

Dosa Bar

Indian specialties like dosa, biryani, idly, and vada pav are just some of the things you can order at the newly opened Dosa Bar on Gammel Kongevej, which wants you to enjoy dishes from South India and Mumbai’s street food.

The menu is meat-free, and the place is named after dosa, the South Indian specialty consisting of a crispy, lightly fermented pancake made from rice and lentils, served here with a spicy potato masala.

Prices on the snack menu start at 69 kroner and include samosa with chaat, the crispy vegetable snack pakora, and pav bhaji, a spicy vegetable curry. For the main course, you can choose classics like palak paneer and biryani. You’re in Indian territory, so there’s no alcohol on the menu, but several mocktails and non-alcoholic beers.

Belanja

Further down Gammel Kongevej – right across from Codanhus – a Malaysian restaurant and wine bar has opened in the premises that have been vacant for long periods since Brasserie Prins closed in 2023.

The place is called Belanja, and here you can go a la carte or order a menu (420 kroner) with dishes like fried lotus roots, the noodle soup curry laksa, and Malaysia’s national dish nasi lemak with rice cooked in coconut milk and scented with pandan leaves.

Belanja has previously held pop-ups at places like Darcys and Omada Wine & Deli. It’s open Tuesday-Saturday, and on Fridays and Saturdays, you can also have lunch here.

Belanja. Gl. Kongevej 33B, Frederiksberg. Now open.

Tivoli

From the fancier end of town, if you want to start saving up:

Every year, Tivoli invites a number of restaurants into the Japanese Tower for pop-ups, and now the amusement park has announced this year’s lineup, featuring 7 restaurants with a total of 15 Michelin stars.

The first visit is from the Parisian restaurant AT, which will move in when Tivoli opens for Easter on March 27. In May, the French restaurant Flocons de Sel will visit, and over the summer, Austrian Doubek, Berlin restaurant Coda, and Bangkok top restaurant Suhring will take over the tower.

In November, Zilte, usually based in Antwerp, will visit before Knystaforsen – the restaurant from the Danish couple Nicolai and Eva Tram, who normally live in the Swedish forests – moves into Tivoli. You can get the full overview here.

Det Japanske Tårn. Tivoli. From March 27 - December 31 2026.

Bar Solis at Vesterbro

»An informal dining bar and hangout where you can come for anything from a single glass to spending the whole evening filling your belly and meeting friends«.

That’s how the new Vesterbro dining bar Bar Solis is presented on the website. Think Southern European small dishes like pintxos, taramasalata, and panisse, and a drink menu with vermouth tonic, negroni, and pilsner from Bajeur. Bar Solis has moved into the corner premises on Enghavevej, which once housed Cafe Høegs.

The place is run by a trio with experience from Osteria 16, Camour in Kødbyen, and the now-closed restaurant Contento in Ryesgade.

Bar Solis. Enghavevej 20A, Kbh. V. Now open.

Konkylie

You probably know Bodega Konkylie, the deep red tavern in Nordvest that has been inviting guests for draft beer, Maté Maté, and a carefully curated playlist created by the folks behind the record label Konkylie, who run the place since 2024.

Now they’re soon expanding with an all-day spot in Heimdalsgade, where they will serve homemade sourdough bread and filter coffee from the morning.

If you stay until later in the day, there will be natural wine, beer, and drinks »by the carafe and in stemless glasses«, they say, and when spring truly arrives, they promise plenty of sunny spots outside.

Bodega Konkylie Nørrebro. Heimdalsgade 2B, Kbh. N. Opens mid-March.

Sol & Luna

We end with a prime location in real estate terms, namely at Sortedam Dossering 3 right next to Dronning Louises Bro. Here, Madklubben has closed their Mexican restaurant Roberta to open Sol & Luna instead.

Sol, opening on February 25, will serve breakfast from 7:30 AM, and later in the day, there will be lunch offerings like ribollita, quiche, and grilled sandwiches. At 5 PM, Luna, which opens later in the spring, will take over with an evening menu and bar.

Sol & Luna. Sortedam Dossering 3, Kbh. N. Sol opens Wednesday, February 25. Luna opens later in the spring.
