The parties on the right are putting pressure on Dansk Folkeparti (DF) to climb down from the rigidly worded, take-it-or-leave-it demands the party has handed to the royal investigator, Troels Lund Poulsen of Venstre (V).

At the same time, Kristian Thulesen Dahl, Morten Messerschmidt’s predecessor as leader of Dansk Folkeparti, believes Messerschmidt’s hard-line, ultimatum approach could make it impossible for Troels Lund to seize the unexpected chance to form a center-right government.
